Senior Marketing & Communications Manager (all genders)

Your mission

As Senior Communications Manager, you will build and lead marketing and communications initiatives that increase awareness, strengthen our media visibility, and attract the right founders to Impossible Founders’ programs and formats. You will turn our brand and communications priorities into integrated campaigns and audience journeys, taking ownership of day-to-day coordination and execution while working closely with the Director on strategic direction.

• Own the marketing domain, including performance marketing and analytics, especially for our programs and formats: build audience journeys, funnels, and campaigns across paid, social, and content channels to drive dealflow, participation, and reach; define objectives and KPIs, use data to test and improve results, and make sure campaigns are backed by the right materials (briefs, messaging frameworks, channel plans, landing-page requirements, creative assets, measurement plans).
• Bring senior judgement on how events, social channels, and content marketing fit together: understanding platform/algorithm mechanics and deciding what materials and assets are needed to run an integrated, proactive marketing system.
• Lead media relations and PR: proactively identify story opportunities, develop pitches and press materials, prepare spokespeople, and manage relationships with journalists and PR agencies.
• Support CEO and leadership communications by developing and delivering content and visibility plans in line with the Director's strategic direction.
• Integrate marketing into program and event planning (with the Event Manager, who owns event operations and delivery) and into CRM/data/automation implementation (with AI & Digital colleagues), so audience journeys and measurement work end to end.
• Coordinate external agencies, freelancers and internal contributors, providing clear briefs, constructive feedback and quality assurance.
• Build and maintain a forward-looking campaign calendar and practical workflows/briefing routines that keep priorities visible, flag capacity or timing conflicts, and reduce avoidable last-minute work.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and integration for the team running content marketing and events, connecting their work into the broader performance and campaign strategy and helping them deliver to agreed priorities and quality standards.
• Monitor delivery and outcomes, using audience response and performance data to recommend practical improvements.

Your profile

What matters most to us

• A mix of strategic thinking and a genuine want to operate hands-on: we're all hands-on here, building an exciting, integrated marketing system from the ground up
• Several years of experience leading integrated communications or marketing projects end-to-end, ideally in a fast-moving startup, agency, or ecosystem environment
• Hands-on expertise in performance marketing analytics – attribution, funnel/conversion analysis, testing and optimisation frameworks, SEO/AEO, and dashboarding – with the judgement to independently set and defend budget/channel decisions based on the data
• Proven media relations and PR experience: you've built press relationships, pitched stories, and secured coverage proactively, not just reactively
• Strong sense of how events, social channels, and content marketing work together – including platform/algorithm dynamics, and what materials are needed to run a joined-up marketing system
• Experience in project management as well as managing external agencies, freelancers, and multiple internal stakeholders at once

Additionally, it would be a plus if you bring

• Experience in Deep Tech, venture capital, or startup-ecosystem communications
• German language skills, useful for local press and stakeholder relations in Hamburg
• Familiarity with HubSpot or a comparable CRM as well as marketing automation tools
• Event management experience
• Experience mentoring or informally guiding more junior marketing/comms colleagues (formal line-management experience is not required)
